Submissions

Books Bros Publishing now has an open call for submissions. You can submit your book manuscripts and proposals for review whether or not you are currently working with a literary agent.

Submissions must be 100% original to be accepted. All manuscripts will be checked with advanced plagiarism software to certify originality.

We publish both fiction and non-fiction titles and our submission guidelines are broken down separately:

Nonfiction Guidelines

We publish nonfiction books in all major markets except for memoir if they meet the following guidelines:

  • You must be an expert in your market with a unique message to share.
  • Your book must solve a particular problem, provide proven solutions, or offer unique and fresh insights for readers.
  • We accept simultaneous submissions and submissions from authors with or without literary agents.

We accept submissions for nonfiction books in the following markets:

  • Health and Wellness
  • Business
  • Finance and Investing
  • Relationships
  • Religious / Spiritual
  • Cookbooks
  • Self Help / Personal Development
  • Advice and How-To

We may accept nonfiction submissions in other markets if the author can demonstrate a very large fan base and a strong marketing plan.

To submit your nonfiction book or book proposal for consideration, please fill out the Contact Form at www.booksbrospublishing.com/contact. Please include your full name and a brief (2-3 sentence) synopsis or description of your book.

Note: Memoirs are not being accepted at this time.

Fiction Guidelines

We will consider publishing fiction books in the below genres if they meet the following guidelines:

  • You must have a completed full-length novel (25,000+ words minimum, depending on genre).
  • Your story must be 100% original and not related at all to fanfiction.
  • You can make multiple submissions even if you don’t have a literary agent.

We accept fiction submissions in the following genres:

  • Romance
  • Science Fiction
  • Thriller
  • Mystery
  • Suspense
  • Fantasy
  • Adventure
  • Young Adult
  • New Adult
  • Middle Grade
  • Historical Fiction
  • Erotic Romance / Erotica
  • Children’s Books

Note: Short stories or novellas will not be published unless the author plans to publish one full-length novel in the same genre with us.

Before Submission Work Must be Edited

You must edit your manuscript before you submit it. If countless typos, mistakes, or plot holes are found, your chances of getting accepted will be diminished.

You are most likely to be accepted for a publishing deal if your manuscript is well-edited.

How to Submit

Simply fill out the Contact Form at www.booksbrospublishing.com/contact. Please include your full name and a brief synopsis or description of your book.

After you contact us via the form on this page, we’ll send you instructions for submitting your manuscript or book proposal as you cannot upload a manuscript directly on our site.

If you have written more than one book, please submit only the one book you’re most excited about. Feel free to mention in your note that you’ve written multiple books, but only send us one manuscript at a time.

If we decide to publish your manuscript, we can have a conversation with you about potentially publishing any other books you’ve written.

If your manuscript or book proposal isn’t a good fit for us to publish, feel free to send us another submission for a different book after we’ve responded to your first submission. Please do not submit multiple manuscripts to us at the same time.

Submission for Art

Please email us at www.booksbrospublishing.com/contact with a portfolio link. Physical samples will not be accepted because we work only with digital files for eBook, print, and audiobook publishing.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Here are the answers to some of the most common questions about submissions:

Do you accept unsolicited manuscripts?

Yes, we accept unsolicited manuscripts, and we review all submissions within 14-21 days.

Note: Due to an increase in submissions recently, it may take us longer to provide a formal response to a submitted manuscript.

Do you accept book proposals?

Yes, we do accept book proposal submissions for nonfiction books.

What if I don’t have an agent?

No problem! Most of our submissions are from authors without an agent, although we do accept submission from literary agents. If we do a deal with you directly, you’ll be able to keep your full share of our generous 65% royalties.

How much can I earn with Books Bros Publishing?

We believe in creating long-term partnerships that are good for you and for us. That’s why we pay 65% net royalties. Authors with us earn 3-6 times the amount of royalties they would with a traditional publisher. Our main goal is to help authors earn a full-time income from their passion.

What will it cost?

Nothing. Zero. Sounds crazy right? We are a no-fee independent book publishing company, which means we never charge a fee to publish books. Our profit is earned when you are making book sales.

Do you guarantee my book will get published?

No, we cannot guarantee we will publish your book.

Even if you meet all the guidelines on this page, we review all submitted manuscripts and decide on a case-by-case basis if it makes sense for us to offer a deal to the author. Authors who are ok with constructive criticism and are willing to set their egos aside in order to learn and grow are welcome to resubmit their manuscripts for consideration after making editorial changes.

To give you an idea, less than 1% of manuscript submissions are accepted.

Do You Accept Physical Submissions?

No, we do not review any physical manuscripts. Any submissions sent to us by mail will be discarded, so please help us save trees by submitting your manuscript for review electronically and filling out the contact form on this page.

Got More Questions?

Please fill out the contact form on our page.

Note: After we receive your query letter, we will respond to your email, and you may then submit your manuscript via email. Please ensure your manuscript or book proposal is ready to review in Microsoft Word (either .docx or .doc format) so that our editors can easily review your work.
